Thanks!

I wanted to send a special thank you to the Dressler family in Pennsylvania! They are adopting and came across my blog. They ordered Tshirts from us for their whole family and were kind enough to send a pic. Thank you Amy for your support in our adoption and for your willingness to follow God's call in your life. May God richly bless you and your family through your beautiful journey of adoption.

Waiting...

I can't discuss all the details, but many of you know that our adoption along with all the others at our agency and several other agencies that work with Ethiopia, are on hold right now while the US Embassy conducts a brief (we hope) investigation. Yet another road block :-( I know God's timing is perfect and His plan is SO beautiful but I hurt with all this waiting. I long to hold them and play with them and register them for school, etc.

We humans kid ourselves to think that we are ever really in control of anything as God is the only one who knows the future and what ours holds but the adoption process just reitterates this truth on an extremely magnified scale. Never have I felt so helpless. I'm a take charge kind of girl and I wish I could just hop on a plane and fly right over them and bring them home but alas I cannot...yet.

PLEASE join me in praying that this hold will be lifted VERY soon and we can get our court date so that Hannah and Abekeya can come home. We have wept many tears and this wait seems interminable for all of us. Yesterday I was particularly melancholy and Chris emailed me a few wonderful verses that helped to encourage me.

Psalm 40:1 "I waited patiently for the LORD, He turned to me and heard my cry."

Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer."

Revelations 14:12 "This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God's commandments and remain faithful to Jesus."

One of the most played songs on my Ipod is Jeremy Camp's "Everlasting God". The chorus says "Strength will rise while we wait upon the Lord Our God. He reigns forever. Our hope. Our strong deliver. You are the everlasting God, You do not faint. You won't grow weary. You are defender of the weak. You comfort those in need. You lift us up on wings like eagles."

I know my God has a plan for us and I know He has a plan for our daughters. I know He is comforting them even now as they are likely weary of waiting too. As the song says, He is the defender of the weak and comforts those in need. Thank you God for your unfailing love and your mercies.

Blessings,
Valerie
