Our Homestudy

We've finished part 1 of our Homestudy but part 2 (actual homevisit) is coming up December 28th! Keep us in your prayers please.

We are praying for you all. You and Chris are such loving and amazing parents. Which ever child God chooses to become a part of your family will be a very blessed child. We love you all!

Our Adoption Timeline

November 24, 2011 - Our family is flyng to Africa. Leaving as 6, returning as 8!
November 18, 2011 - We are cleared to travel!!! Praise the Lord! We are coming to get you girls!
November 17, 2011 - Birth father had his interview at Embassy today.
November 3, 2011 - Our paperwork was submitted to the US Embassy today. Much quicker than we anticipated.
October 23, 2011 - We received our new birth certificate. They now have our last name :-)
October 18, 2011 - Today we had to leave them and we don't know for how long. Heartbreaking.
October 17, 2011 - We passed court! The judge said "They're yours!"
October 15, 2011 - We met ours daughters face to face for the first time! Oh happy Day!
June 27, 2011 - We FINALLY have a court date! We will be traveling for court on 10/17/11!
April 21, 2011 - We were submitted to court. WooHoo!
April 13, 2011 - We FINALLY received our I171H form from Immigration!
April 8, 2011 - We were referred to our girls. Woo-hoo - we're coming Hannah and Aby!
February 16, 2011 - We were fingerprinted for Immigration (USCIS) office.
February 14, 2011 - Dossier received National Seal and Approval from Ethiopian Embassy.
February 8, 2011 - Received county and state authentications and Dossier was mailed to Washington DC for national seal.
February 5, 2011 - Received our I797C from USCIS informing us we should receive our fingerprinting appointment soon. Also received our Educational Toolbox from CCI.
January 27, 2011 - Received our completed homestudy and sent it off with our I600A to USCIS.
December 28, 2010 - Second Homestudy Visit with Adoption Assistance, Inc.
December 21, 2010 - Our Agency Contract was approved with CCI. We are now officially their clients.
December 15, 2010 - First Homestudy Visit with Adoption Assistance, Inc.
December 2, 2010 - Agency application sent in to CCI.
November 23, 2010 - Received paperwork from our homestudy agency. The paperwork pregnancy begins!
November 19, 2010 - We received our agency packet from CCI to contract with them for our adoption.
November 15, 2010 - Kelly Putty from Ordinary Hero came to our Community Group to speak to us about helping out with the Stocking Stuffing Event. Little did we know she'd also speak about adoption and our hearts would be convicted that night!

If you'd like to order a shirt, please email me your shirt size (infant to 2XL), preferred shirt color and Africa fabric pattern and we will customize for you. These are washable - just turn inside out and wash on cold. Hang to dry. Safe to iron over the Africa.
